Problem Note 36145: The maxuser_id is being reused when creating a new user in SASĀ® Merchandise Planning resulting objects that are incorrectly assigned
Max_User_IDs are being reused in certain circumstances in SAS Merchandise Planning, allowing for favorites and assignments to carry over incorrectly.
The steps to recreate this problem are as follows:
- Create a User (User A).
- Assign some templates to that user.
- Delete User A from within the application.
- Immediately create another user (User B).
- Log on to the application as User B.
- Go to Template Manager.
- Sort on Assigned templates.
The templates that were assigned to User A display for User B. There should be no templates assigned to the new user. This example featured templates, but this issue also occurs for other objects within SAS Merchandise Planning.
This issues only happens if User A (in this scenario) is sequentially the last max_user_id number. If this is not the case, then the problem will not occur.
The workaround is to create the new user (User B) before deleting the old user (User A).
